Waterford Speedbowl will kick off its 56th consecutive
season April 1-2 with the tenth annual Budweiser
Modified Nationals. The SK-Modifieds, Late Models,
Sportsman, Mini Stocks and Legends will again anchor a
busy campaign that will run through the “Finale” on
Sept. 23-24.

Race Director Bill Roth has called the schedule, which
includes for the first time the True Value Modified
Tour and the Ford Focus Midgets, “well-balanced and
diverse. We are excited about the possibilities this
schedule provides. The work in continuing.”

The SK-150, the centerpiece of the opening event,
begins anew one of the sport’s longest competitions.
The Speedbowl has been crowning Modified champions
since its inception in 1951. The Late Model, Sportsman
and Mini Stock point battles, all with the possibility
of defending champions, will also begin at the
Nationals.

“It is hard to imagine a better regular field,” boasts
Roth who points out “we had almost 50 different
Saturday night winners and two terrific point races
last season.” The Midseason 300, which showcases the
weekly divisions, is July 1. The Speedbowl continues
to work on a Labor Day weekend attraction and a
different format for the “Finale.”

The True Value Modifieds (June 17) and the
USAC-sponsored Ford Focus Midgets (April 29) are
newcomers on a schedule that includes the return of
the ISMA Supermodifeds (May 27), NASCAR Whelen
Modified Tour (July 22) and NASCAR Busch East (Aug.
19).

The Northeastern Midget Association (NEMA) continues
its long association with the Speedbowl with three
visits starting with the Mod Nationals and ending with
the “Finale.” NEMA will again be on hand on Saturday
of Nostalgia Weekend (Aug. 5-6).

The AllStar Race Trucks (June 10) and Pro4 Modifieds
(May 13) have three dates including the Nationals and
“Finale.’ The Allison Legacy Cars will be on hand
twice, the Nationals and July 8.

Nostalgia Weekend will again blend the present with
the past. The cars of ACOT, STARS and NEAR will be on
display on Saturday night and then take to the track
on Sunday. “We just had a great time last year and
we’re looking forward to another Nostalgia success in
2006,” said Roth.

The “Faster Pastor” race, which made its debut with
considerable success last year, return on Sept. 16.
“Everybody gets the chance to have some fun and
contribute to the community on that night,” says Roth.

The very successful Wild n’ Wacky Wednesday series,
featuring the Legends, X and Super-X Cars and the
X-Modifieds, will run between May 10 and Sept. 6.
