Perrotte To Lease Airborne Raceway Airborne International Raceway
Plattsburgh, NY – The American-Canadian Tour, Ltd. (ACT) and Airborne Int’l Raceway management have reached an agreement to lease the facility to a group headed by Mike Perrotte of Elizabethtown, NY. Perrotte is a successful and well-known dirt modified racer, and served as the track’s promoter in the 1980s.
The deal is a long-term, multi-year contract with an option for sale, and will take effect immediately. The new management group plans to keep a close association with ACT, and will continue to utilize the current racing divisions, rulebooks, and track layout. The regular weekly card of Tiger Sportsmen, Renegades, and Junkyard Warriors will be accompanied by a dirt/asphalt modified racing division, similar to the cars featured in a pair of mid-summer events at Airborne Raceway in 2004.
Airborne Raceway is a semi-banked asphalt ˝-mile oval located in Plattsburgh, NY, and completed its 50th season in 2004, crowning Bill Sawyer of Milton, VT its track champion.
