Twin State Speedway Flea Market This Weekend; Major Renovations on Track for 2005 Twin State Speedway
Claremont, NH: Twin State Speedway (formerly Claremont Speedway) will be the site of a Racer Swap Meet and Outdoor Flea Market this Saturday. The meet will feature bargains for many divisions of racers from Mini Stocks to Late Models and Modifieds. The event will be held on the historic 1/3-mile D-shaped oval from 7:00 AM 4:00 PM. Vendor space is available and all those that would like to sell their goods are encouraged to show early.
I would like to see this swap meet become an annual event for Northern New England racers, said event organizer Bob Stanhope.
All but a handful of tracks in the region are North of the Massachusetts border. Twin State Speedway is a nice and central location for the racers in Vermont and New Hampshire, continued Stanhope.
As an added bonus, attending the swap meet gives fans and racers a first look at the extensive makeover that is currently in progress. There is a new victory lane, new seating, and many other cosmetic upgrades to the facility.
Mr. Fleury is doing a tremendous job of giving the track a face lift for the fans and the competitors, said Stanhope. There are some pictures of the renovations on the track's website, but until you actually see the changes in person, I don't think you get the sense of effort being put into this project, closed Stanhope.
Gates will open to the general public at 7:00 AM on Saturday. General admission at the pit gate entrance is $5.00. Vendor space is available starting at $20 and that includes one pass for the day. All automotive and race-related vendors are welcome to attend. Vendors can start entering at 6:00 AM to set up.
Questions can be directed to Bob Stanhope until 5:00pm on Friday at 603-210-1200 and on Saturday by cell phone at 603-344-1320.
