After the rain showers left the New England area, Whip City Speedway was poised for action this past Saturday night. Mike King, after a season of terrible luck, looked flawless enroute to his first ever 250cc youth class victory. In other divisions, Aaron Wall took down the 270cc win and championship in the division. John Lieto won one battle in the 750cc division, taking down the win and locking up the championship, while he lost the other battle in the 1200cc class, to a hard charging Paul Corazzo Jr.

In the 250 cc Youth Sprints, Mike King took his RTS Chassis to the front of the pack on lap one and never looked back. King drove an absolutely flawless race as the youngster wheeled his way to his first career win in the division. The ever so consistent Brian Boudreau too his Capone Pool Water RTS machine into second and was followed by Brian Hurd, Joe Gaudiosi, William Wall, Brian Rondeau and Justin Phillips.

In the 270 cc division, John Morgillo jumped out into an early lead from the pole and was hotly pursued by Rich Crooker in the Superior Water #7 machine. Morgillo's season of bad luck would continue as he pulled off with mechanical issues on lap thirteen, and then Crooker pulled off a lap later. At that point, Aaron Wall had charged from the tenth starting position into third and then inherited the lead when Morgillo and Crooker dropped off the pace. Wall would go on to win, and also lock up the championship for the year over rookie standout Brandon Igo, who had dropped out of the race earlier with a broken chain tensioner. Sam Christie would finish second in the feature followed by Chase Bennett, Mark Irving, John Agor, Gary Chione, Phillip Bessette, Matt Gallo, Glen Clark, Richard Crooker, John Morgillo, Joseph Welch, Nichole Morgillo, Bryan Russo, Lex Burritt, Brooks Bennett, Michael Chmura, Brandon Igo and Wade Mattesen.

In the 600 cc division, Greg Smith went from fourth to first on the initial start, and went on to stretch out a big lead through the first half of the feature event. By the halfway point, last year's champ Chad Gaudiosi, had climbed into the second spot and began to challenge Smith. Gaudiosi would make the pass for the lead and also the pass for the win on lap eighteen as he took his Gary Steele Construction/Can It Roll Off Service #04 to victory lane. Chad Gaudiosi was followed by Greg Smith, Mike Brouthers, Jody Tripp, 2004 Champion Jay Coppo, Jimmy Glenn, Mitch Griswold, Carl Sherman, Joel Gamache, Chris Glenn, Mark Irving, Jim DeCambra, Frank Russo, Brandon Artibani and David Bodio.

In the 750 cc division, perhaps one of the year's most exciting points battles came right down to the wire. Eleventh place starter John Lieto and twelfth place starter Anthony Montesi knew what they had to do, and it played out nearly picture perfect. Both drivers went into the event, with Montesi having a slight margin over Lieto. Lieto charged to the front of the field with Montesi hot on his tail, - but when it came down to the checkers it was the cagey veteran, Lieto, taking down both the win and championship while Montesi would have to settle for second. The feature order ended up with John Lieto taking down the win and 2004 championship over Anthony Montesi, Marc Guerard, Jon Moore, Joseph Kalk, Jamie Beaudry, Terri Lemelin, R.J. Tufano, Mindy Neron, Bubba Broderick, Arthur LeBlanc, Josh Walts, Mark Dupuis, Don Masciadrelli, Jason Wood, Jon Walts and Jack Walts.

In the 360 ci Sprint Cars, Warren Alexson jumped out into the lead on lap one and never looked back. Alexson bested a strong field of competitors as he took down the win over Mark Cole, B.J. Guertin, John Lieto, Richard Lemelin, Rick Hart, Aaron Thayer, Riki Likowski, Mark Doupis, Steve LaPine, and Darryl Huckaby.

In the Modified Lites, Eric Bacon jumped out into the lead on lap one from the fourth position. Bacon would never lood back as he bested a hard charging Brian Peterson. Peterson would settle for second followed by Mark Lataille, Joseph Anselmo, Stephen Travinski, Ryan Nicewicz, Christopher Travinski, Scott Viets, Brett Crowther, Jeffrey Barker, Ryan Charland, Tim Johnson, John Durst, Roy Bacon, Rick Mathison, Ralph Cook, Natalie Cowles, Robert LaForge, Matt Bernier, Wayne Tack, Donald Fenner, Thomas O'Malley, Peter Sorrentino and Howie Newman.

In the 1200 cc division, Paul Corazzo Jr. blasted into the lead on lap one, which was exactly what he needed to do. Corazzo Jr. went into the event in a dead-heat with John Lieto and in the double points show, one of the drivers had to take down the win to pull ahead of the other for the championship. Corazzo Jr. would drive a flawless race in his #22 Racing machine as he was followed by John Lieto and that was the way the points ended up. Dennis Lamke, Joel Gamache, Matthew Pravia, Robert Dance, Paul Corazzo Jr, Ed Baillargeon, Ken Hinckley, Glenn Pressel and Jeff Lamothe rounded out the field.

In the 750cc SP 9/11 race, Kyle Spencer bested John Cole, Jack Fogarty, Arthur LeBlanc, Bob Korner, Kristen Phillips, Mike Fogarty and Jesse Twing. The Quad 4 9/11 race saw Scott Viets best Kelly Ferrell, Ron Bunn and Anthony Montesi. In the 750cc SP 10/16 race, Kyle Spencer won again followed by Arthur LeBlanc, Jack Fogarty, Kristen Phillips, Mike Fogarty, Bob Korner, John Cole and Jesse Twing. In the Quad 4 10/16 race, Ron Bunn took down the win over Kelly Ferrell, Scott Viets, Tom Spada, Anthony Montesi.
