Fellows,Young, Rhodes And Harris Champions At Twin State Speedway Twin State Speedway
Claremont,N.H.- The racing season at Twin State Speedway came to a close on Friday night as LaValley’s Building Supply presented championship night at the NASCAR facility.
During the drivers meeting Competition Director Mike Parks thanked all the competitors for the great racing in 2004 and track owner Dennis Fleury did like wise adding " I would also like to thank my team of workers and we are going to do it bigger and better in 2005 ".
No question there, a blind man could see the major improvements in 2004. Fluery also added that new bleachers, flag stand and ticket booth will be on the menu as well as other improvements for the 2005 season.
The first feature of the evening was the Rock 93.9 Figure 8 class and 9 cars took the green flag in the 5 week-old division, Rob Olney #15 took home the win over Mike Rouleau #84, Tim Shepard #33 Rob Letourneau #47 and Matt Croteau #37.
The Ross Tire & Auto Pro Quads were next on tap with Dave Cowdrey #38 jumping to the early lead. While Cowdrey ran out front John Ross Jr. #88 and Rich Fournier #20 put on a side by side battle for 2nd swapping the position several times. On lap 15 2004 points champion Walt Harris #2 and Mike Patnaude #96 got together in turn 4 to bring out the caution. While the yellow was still out Cowdrey's car started over heating sending the leader pitside for the evening. This would set up a single file restart and as the green flew Fournier had Rick Lambert #94 as well as Ross in his mirror. Over the final five laps Lambert tried high and low to grab the lead but Fournier was up to the task and was first to the checkers.

17 cars lined up for the Twin Valley Power Supply Super Street feature with Ryan Bell #51 and Wayne Ingalls #12 on the front row. Bell bolted to the front at the drop of the green but on lap 3 Ingalls worked his way by hanging Bell out to dry on the high side as Colby Hodgdon #02, "Radical" Ricky Bly #28 and 8 time winner Chris Bergeron #27 slid by. On lap 7 Earl "The Pearl" Moul #11 got crossed up in turn 4 to bring out the first caution. Ingalls would hold the point on the restart but on lap 9 Bergeron ducked low on the back chute to snag the lead bringing Bly with him. "Marvelous" Mark McClay #15 worked his way up to 2nd on lap 14 setting up a battle with Bergeron, These two competitors accounted for 15 wins this season and the crowd on hand knew this could decide the championship as points leader Nate Young #0 was mired back in traffic. On lap 15 Moul and Ron Carmen #67 got together in turn 4 and the yellow flew again. Bergeron outgunned McClay on the restart but on lap 18 Bergeron lost a right front rotor sending him up against the back chute wall ending his night. McClay then roared to the checkers giving him his 8th win of the season with Bly 2nd and Ingalls 3rd.

The Dexter Automotive Late Model field was 21 cars deep with Kevin "The Wild Thing" Vaudrien #9 and Rich Glode #09 on the front row. Vaudrien got loose on the first lap and Glode would be the early leader. On lap 4 a chain reaction of checking up in turn 2 would send several cars spinning and the first caution of the event was thrown. glode again jumped to the front on the restart but on lap 6 "Flyin" Brian Sears #1 made a nice move to snag the top spot. By lap 18 points leader and 3 time track champion Aaron Fellows #29 had worked his way into 2nd and began applying the pressure on Sears. On lap 24 jamie "The Jet" Lanou #35 got into the left rear of Vaudrien sending him around and track officials sending Lanou to the rear. Over the final 8 laps Fellows tried several different moves to get by Sears but the Windsor Warrior kept his cool and nailed down his second win of the season.

The Dominos Pizza Lightning Stock 20 lap main event saw Nate Martell #11 and Kevin Woolbert #80 bringing the field to green. Martell would lead the first 3 laps before Woolbert (Fresh off his first heat race win) would snag the lead by diving low in turn 4. On lap 6 Joe Rogers #3 dumped Marcia Weil #35 coming out of turn 2 with Rogers being sent to the rear. Woolbert again bolted to the front and on lap 14 Woolbert's teammate George Fisher Jr. #8 dumped Mike Burke #00 on the back chute thus sending Fisher to the back of the pack.
On the restart a scramble would see 3 time winner Josh King #29 go around on the front chute while Burke and Mark Davis #28 would end up against the turn 4 wall. Calvin Poland #0 grabbed the lead on the restart as Woolbert got caught up in the shuffle dropping him back several positions. On lap 16 "Stompin" Steve Lanou #48 caught the back of Woolbert and around he went and Lanou being sent to the rear for thew incident. This set up a single file 4 lap dash for the cash and Poland held on to win his first victory over a hard charging Aaron Whipple #21 and Fisher who came from the rear three times.

Dave "The Mailman" Aiken #33 started deep in the 29 car Batchelder Brothers Wildcat field but battled his way to his 10th win of the season over Ken Hamilton #29, Donald "Duck" Rogers #99, David Leitch #40 and Robert Leitch #72.
While the racing is done for the season at Twin State Speedway there's still activities at the facility, as a Racing Swap Meet will be held on October 30th. Also the Twin State Speedway Banquet will be held on November 20th at the Lake Morey Inn & Resort. Tickets are on sale now!
