Lieto, Boudreau, Clark, Viets Top Whip City Action

On a beautiful night for racing, Brian Boudreau, Glen Clark and Scott Viets all took down feature wins at New England's premier quarter mile clay oval.

In the 250 cc Youth Sprints, Brian Boudreau in the Capone's Pool Water #84 RTS Chassis has been both hot and consistent lately in the youth sprint division. Boudreau jumped out into the lead early in the race and put on an excellent show as he beat Mike King in his best outing of the year after being plagued by many problems, who was followed by Joe Gaudiosi, Brian Rondeau, William Wall, Brian Hurd, Matt Gallo, Joe Champagne and Justin Phillips.

In the 270 cc class, Glen Clark took his PMP Chassis #90G machine to the front of the field on lap one from his pole starting position. Clark would go on to dominate the feature as he becomes a three time winner in the division this year, besting Brooks Bennett, points leader Aaron Wall, Chase Bennett, Wade Mattesen, Lex Burritt, Sam Christie, Richard Crooker, Brandon Igo, John Morgillo, Michael Barrett, Nichole Morgillo, Michael Chmura, Phillip Bessette, Doug Blowers Jr and Rich Shepard.

In the 600 cc division, Carl Sherman looked to have broken his streak of bad luck as he had taken his Stallard Chassis / B&B Petroleum machine to victory, but ended up falling just one lap short with engine failure. When Sherman pulled off the racing surface, Jody Tripp who was running a solid second, would take over the lead and go on to take down yet another feature win. Mitch Griswold ended up second, followed by Jay Coppo, Greg Smith, Mike Brouthers, Chad Gaudiosi, David Johnson, Brett Mancieri, Jim DeCambra, Carl Sherman, Ricci Hirth, Jeff Amaral and Arthur LeBlanc.

In the 750 cc feature event, Matt McLeod jumped out into the lead early and put on an impressive run, as he took down his first feature win of the year. McLeod had to best a strong field of competitors as he took down a solid victory over Josh Walts, Paul Bigelow, Anthony Montesi, Terri Lemelin, Marc Guerard, John Lieto, Josh Webb, Bubba Broderick, Jon Walts, Mindy Neron, Jack Walts, Jamie Beaudry, Rick Gemme, Richard Lemelin, Dan Schaubert, Jason Wood, Jon Moore, R.J. Tufano, Don Masciadrelli and Tom Richard.

In the Modified Lites division, Scott Viets has been hot as of late. Viets took his machine into the lead early in the race and had to fend off hard chargers Alan Provost and Eric Bacon for the win. Viets would go on to take down the feature victory over Alan Provost, Eric Bacon, Joseph Anselmo, Ryan Charland, Christopher Travinski, Ryan Charland, Tim Johnson, John Durst, Stephen Travinski, Mark Lataille, Brett Crowther, Ralph Cook, Matt Bernier, Roy Bacon, Bobby Poloski and Brian Peterson.

In the 1200 cc feature event, John Lieto came blasting to the front and actually also propelled himself into the division points lead as he took down an impressive feature event win over Matthew Pravia, supermodified star John McKennedy, who had his best run in the Haskell Motorsports machine, Glenn Pressel, Ed Baillargeon, Paul Corazzo Jr, Paul Corazzo Sr, Roert Dance, Dennis Lamke, Larry Ash, Joel Gamache, Ken Hinckley and Jeffrey Hassan.

In the 750 cc Sportsman 8/14 event Bob Korner bested John Cole, Arthur LeBlanc, Kyle Spencer, Mike Fogarty, Jack Fogarty and Mark McKeon. In the Quad 4 portion of the 8/14 event Rich Durso took down his first feature win over Kelly Ferrell and Anthony Montesi. In the 750 cc Sportsman 8/28 event, John Cole won over Kyle Spencer, Mike Fogarty, Bob Korner, Jay Haviland Jr, Arthur Le Blanc and Jack Fogarty. In the Quad 4 8/28 event, Kelly Ferrell bested Anthony Montesi and Rich Durso.

In the Karting action wins went to:

Novice: Andrew Mattesen
Turquoise: John Virgilio
Junior: Matt Seymour
Lite: Ryan Rivet
Heavy: Jason Wood
Two-Stroke: Jason Wood
Micro: Joe DiUlio

Whip City returns to regular action this coming Saturday.
