Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Spring Rock Fest presented by Z-102.3 First to Roll into Speedway

North East, PA (March 22, 2004)- Lake Erie Speedway has announced the addition of the 2004 Summer Concert Series to the already impressive race schedule. Four major concerts will take place on select Sunday’s throughout the summer.

The concert series will kick off with the Lynyrd Skynyrd all day rock festival starting at 9:00am on Sunday, May 23rd. A tailgate party will begin at 9:00am in the parking lot with the spectator gates opening at noon. Two local bands (Chunk and Thirst-n-Howl) will take to the stage to get things rolling. Blue Oyster Cult will then perform such hits as “Don’t Fear The Reaper”, “Burnin’ For You” and “Godzilla”. 38 Special will then get the crowd ready for Lynyrd Skynyrd by performing “Hold on Loosely”, Caught Up In You”, “Teacher Teacher” and others. Lynyrd Skynyrd will cap the night off by performing huge hits such as “Freebird”, “Sweet Home Alabama”, and many more! Lynyrd Skynyrd’s summer tours are consistently among the highest grossing tours in the country.

All tickets go on sale Saturday, April 3rd at 10:00am at all TicketMaster locations and the Lake Erie Speedway box office at 814-725-3303. Tickets are $27.50 for general admission seating or $40.00 for a limited number of preferred seating.

The remaining three concerts will take place Sunday, June 27th with the Summer Rock Fest, Sunday, July 25th with the L.E.S. Country Fest, and Sunday, September 5th with the End of Summer Jam.
