Groveton, NH - - Jean-Paul Cyr outgunned Roger Brown on a lap 32 restart and went on to his third ACT New England Dodge Tour win Saturday night at Riverside Speedway. Runner-up Todd Stone was Cyr’s biggest threat, tracking him for over 50 laps to record his third straight top-three finish. Stone and third-place Dave Pembroke had pushed Cyr hard, but eased up to protect their positions from fourth-place Scott Dragon when the drizzle increased over the final six laps. Chad Wheeler was a very competitive fifth.

"I’m glad we got the full one hundred laps in," Cyr said at the podium. "I was going good and wouldn’t have wanted a tainted win in a shorter race." The former ACT champion had previously come out on top at Airborne Raceway and White Mountain Motorsports Park.

Scott Dragon held his top spot on the ACT Dodge Tour by steadily advancing to fourth after being sent to the rear for causing contact that brought out the first of the event’s three caution flags. That altercation on lap 31, involving a back marker and Joe Becker, set the stage for a second caution one lap later that changed the complexion of the race.

Roger Brown, who had led throughout, was overtaken by Cyr at the drop of the restart green, then lost power in turn four, initiating a five-car stack-up at the flag stand that crumpled Jamie Fisher and sent Eric Williams and Phil Scott limping off to the pits. Brown was never able to refire, continuing a month of mechanical misery.

Williams and Scott returned and managed to tough out eight and ninth place, respectively, but Fisher was never the same and finished 21st. Joey Laquerre, Dave Whitcomb followed Chad Wheeler home for sixth and seventh. Brent Dragon completed the top ten.

Todd Stone’s hot streak - a win at Star, seconds at Oxford Plains and Riverside, has moved him up into fourth place in the ACT standings. Stone trails Scott Dragon 886-833. Jean-Paul Cyr is Dragon’s closest threat with an 858 mark, 19 points better than defending ACT champion Phil Scott (833). ACT travels to Seekonk Speedway this Saturday, August 16 for the New England Dodge Dealers 100 - Post time 6 p.m.
